LOCATION.-- Lat 39°24'21", long 88°53'47", in NW1/4NW1/4 sec.17, T.11 N., R.3 E., Shelby County, Hydrologic Unit 07140201, on right bank at upstream side of bridge on State Highway 16, 0.1 mi downstream from Mud Creek, 4.5 mi west of Shelbyville, and at mile 9.1.

DRAINAGE AREA.-- 93.1 mi2.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--
SURFACE-WATER DISCHARGE AND STAGE: Maximum discharge, 11,300 ft3/s, May 2, 1983, gage height, 13.37 ft; maximum gage height, 14.92 ft, Sept. 23, 1993, discharge, 10,700 ft3/s; no flow for many days in 1982-85, 1988-89, 1991.

EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD.--
SURFACE-WATER DISCHARGE AND STAGE: Flood of June 28, 1957, reached a stage of 16.8 ft, present site and datum, with a discharge estimated at 26,400 ft3/s.

REMARKS FOR CURRENT YEAR.-- Records fair except those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor.
